The company was established in July 1st, 1981, aimed at optimizing vegetal oil transportation activities carried out by Cattalini Transportes Ltda., which was established in 1956 by two Italian immigrants brothers, Dino and Stefano Cattalini, who, in the postwar era, chose Brazil as their fatherland.

At that time, five tanks with capacity of twelve thousand tons were built to stock soyabean oil, which proved to be a significant improvement in dealing with the overflow of cargo which could not be loaded directly onboard vessels from trucks. Loading rate at that time was at the most 100 metric tons per hour.

Always with a view to streamlining operations we intended to connect our terminal to the public port quays through a pipeline. However, the port authority would not grant berthing priority for vessels loading liquid bulk cargoes through our pipeline. Without such berthing priority we had to rule out the idea of using the public quays.
